Typesetting

When translating texts for catalogues, instruction manuals or any other multilingual material, the page layout is crucial.
In addition to facilitating the comprehension of the text, it also needs to present the contents with a clean look that’s easy to read.
This is a service often associated with translations.

What makes the Trawort multilingual page layout service different to others?

Our department employs Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) graphic designers.

Their advanced technical skills allow the possibility for optimised language switching within graphic files without needing to resort to third-party professionals.

Together with our programmers, we have also developed software to simplify and partly automate language switching processes: thanks to a plug-in linking Trados (the translation management software) and the graphic design program used, we create semi-paginated files which are then double-checked by the typesetter and made available to the client in high-resolution PDF format, similar to a print proof but more quickly and at a lower cost.

Formats and languages

We are able to simultaneously process:

  • more than 30 languages per layout;
  • all font types, including Cyrillic characters, Oriental alphabets, and typefaces with universal accents and glyphs;
  • right-to-left script (for example, Arabic) with specific InDesign features specifically for Middle Eastern languages, or top-to-bottom script (for example, Japanese).

More than just a multilingual page layout

We translate and typeset all types of content into the desired format. We also touch up photos, recreate images, manage CAD files and exploded drawings and work directly on programming languages (XML o HTML).

We work with: Office Package; QuarkXPress; Adobe Indesign; Illustrator; PageMaker; Framemaker; Photoshop; Autocad; Corel Draw; Macromedia Dreamweaver; Fireworks; Freehand; and Flash.
